Author Archives: Jacssisters

We are not convinced!

No protestation, however skilfully contrived, has convinced us that ‘Liz’ is not, in fact, the author of West; with each comment we believe the circumstantial evidence increases.

Recently she invited us — to prove that she wasn’t Jim Perrin — to ‘look up the rest of [her] reviews…’  (On Amazon.)

We did:  ‘These [mules] are extremely comfortable and really nice in the silver (actually more of a pewter colour).  Good value.  Flattering.’  And, of a second pair, ‘These sandals are sooo [sic] comfortable and well made. The brown ones…’.  Her reviews are not in the same literary style as her comments about us!  And as a note said both of these items were ‘currently unavailable’, we wonder why she bothered. (Except of course we think she was merely spinning a yarn, and placing false comments as part of her (JPs?) on-going subterfuge.)

Jac’s sisters have reviewed West on Amazon: now largely discredited for the exaggeration and the proved and reprehensible lies of the author — it is hardly surprising that it has achieved neither good sales figures* nor even a place on the long-list for the prestigious ‘Wales Book of the Year’. Doubtless this will have surprised Jim Perrin greatly as he has been the blue-eyed boy of that literary circle for many profitable years…  Continue reading

Jim Perrin’s fiefdom ?

We were at first intrigued by the spite with which ‘Melangell’ wrote of us in comments on the Guardian thread, 24/07/10, then amused by what were clearly spurious postings on other sites; finally, bored with the nonsense which was issued at every opportunity — and which we suspected to be devised entirely by Jim Perrin, using that name as an alias — we set up this site.

It is said that ‘All publicity is good publicity’ and perhaps we should have left the matter, rather than undertaking this journey in which all sign-posts point ‘West:’ but our natural wish was for the truth about our late sister’s ill-fated relationship with this author to be made known and we realised that as Jac’s sisters, we were best placed for the task.

If we do not speak, Jim Perrin’s provable lies and deceptions — his attitudinising — would go on indefinitely and this knowledge led us to overcome our reluctance and to set out on our venture: from technophobes we became twenty-first century bloggers. Continue reading

Waterstones (take 2)… they rejected the first review

Regarding West: the synopsis of this paperback is misleading and our review must necessarily include the information that our sister, Jac (Jacquetta), was not the author’s ‘wife’: indeed she planned to leave him.

‘Writers will write’ — he has said elsewhere — yet to claim as truth that which can be proved to be untrue, is not so much a writer’s stratagem as, we believe, a questionable practice. His style aside there are many considerable inaccuracies in West.

Amongst others, Jim Perrin does not come from the Welsh family background he claims in several passages, nor is he (fortunately for him) dying of ‘terminal lung cancer’ — pages 149 to 150, and 301 to 302 — and we feel that a review should, properly, point out these discrepancies when the book is claimed by its author to be autobiographical.

In our attempt to put the record straight — where our late sister is concerned — we have set up this site and we hope that ‘Waterstones:’ (in the interests of honesty and fair play) will allow us to invite readers of Jim Perrin’s book, West, to access it at: jacssisters.org.

But, they did not.
